Los primeros tomates cultivados en Europa en el siglo XVI, fueron de color amarillo,\u200b estos fueron cultivados en los jardines bot\u00e1nicos del sur de Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n<p>Este fresco fruto de verano se consume de diferentes formas, crudos en ensaladas, cocidos, en zumos, confitados y asados.<\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"ES-CO\">Beneficios para la salud:<\/span><\/b> <span lang=\"ES-CO\">Es fuente de antioxidantes por su abundante presencia de carotenos, entre ellos el licopeno. Asimismo, tiene hidratos de carbono, mayormente az\u00facares simples, raz\u00f3n por la cual el tomate cherry es el vegetal com\u00fan m\u00e1s dulce. Tiene muy pocas calor\u00edas por su 95% contenido de agua, constituy\u00e9ndose en una hortaliza muy diet\u00e9tica.
